UPPER DOMINICK STREET

Dominick Street, a wide thoroughfare crossing Bolton Street, was the residence of many of the aristocracy in Ireland. The arms of the former residents are still to be seen over some of the doorways. At No.36 was born Sir William Hamilton, an Irish mathematical genius, who discovered the system of quaternions.

More recently, Dominick street was badly run-down but because of the new tram line that now passes along the street much re-development is now underway especially on the "upper" section of the street.
