WHEN DID IT BECOME A VILLAGE

RIALTO

When I visited the area today there were a number of signs indicating that I was in Rialto Village and as I was unaware of such a village I was a bit surprised so I suspect that Rialto is being promoted as being a village for commercial and business reasons.

Rialto is a suburb of Dublin, situated on the southside . It is located along the abandoned section from the Grand Canal to James Street Basin which was built to serve the Guinness Brewery. This section of the canal was the original (not the extension), but closed down in 1976.
