SCULPTURE IN CONTEXT 2017

CAPTIVE II BY ANA DUNCAN

So far this year it has rained every time I decided to take photographs.

“Ana Duncan was born in Dublin of Spanish and Irish parents. She works primarily in bronze and ceramic from her studio in Churchtown. Though the female figure has been a subject to which she constantly returns, forms the natural world have been the inspiration for a body of work recently completed by her. Her main influences are the work of Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Botero, Picasso, FE McWilliam, among others, and the simplicity of Brancusi.”
