FACEBOOK DUBLIN HQ – DUBLIN DOCKLANDS AREA
Facebook’s workforce in Ireland has grown from the 80 jobs announced in 2009 to about 2,500 people today at its international headquarters in Dublin.
Elsewhere the company began constructing its first data centre in Clonee about two years ago on a 220-acre campus with room for further expansion. The project generated many construction jobs as well as about 100 full-time positions needed to operate the complex. According to a report in The Sunday Times, Facebook is planning to invest an additional €300m to build two new data centres adjacent to the original data centre in Meath.
There is a possibility of an additional jobs as the company is to establish a new campus in Ballsbridge [700,000 sq ft] with space for up to 5,000 employees.
